Today I spoke to a Russian student from Dudinka on my radio show All Nations. She told me loads of interesting things, like how they paint houses bright green, blue, red, yellow so people don’t suffer from colour depression.
On one of the hottest days of English summers we talked about the -60 winter in Siberia. She told me about how big the Northern Lights are, that they’re not like rainbows. They are so big it’s like watching IMAX on 3D falling on you. I said, wow, there must be a God. She agrees.
One of the best things about my job is the people I meet. In radio, most of the best stories are told off air. She also told me that because she is Siberian, she is most definitely of Chinese descent. Do we look alike?
