Childhood in Singapore

As a 3-year-old in Singapore Zoo (1989)

I dug through some of my old photo albums, and found that I visited Singapore often as a child. Some of my fond memories include:

• Watching a cousin play video games in his air-conditioned room on Eng Guan Avenue
• Visiting Haw Par Villa and seeing the grotesque statues in Nine Levels of Hell from Chinese folk mythology
• Loving Changi Airport’s huge botany section in Terminal 2
Missing our flight home to Penang and still being fed rice by Mum at the food court as our names were being announced over the PA

My sister and I on a flight from Penang to Singapore (1989). Back in the day we flew Singapore Airlines, today I fly budget on AirAsia or Jetstar….hmm
