Reviewing my Apr-Jun 2022

In April, I moved into my new apartment in SS17 and I am now a Subangite. Bye bye Puchong forever. That month, I spent a lot of effort sprucing up my new place. A lot of money was spent on cleaning, light-weight furnishing and minor decorations to make the place feel like home.

I also gained a new flatmate, for which I’m thankful for as living alone did not suit me too well. In April, I read only one book, ‘My Cousin Rachel’ by Daphne du Maurier, watched ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ at GSC, visited REX KL and went out for a Japanese buffet with colleagues.

Come May long weekends were aplenty. I decided to stay put in KL to avoid the Labour Day and Aidilfitri traffic, and was rewarded with a uni reunion at McDonald’s Centrepoint, a penthouse BBQ in Mont Kiara and an aunt’s home-cooked assam laksa, rendang and lemang at her house.

That month, I read only one book: ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl. At the end of the month, my high school friends came back and we took a 3D2N trip to Taman Negara. It was so good to travel again and get out into nature.

The real reason I started watching ‘Stranger Things’

In June, I caught the dreaded coronavirus, possibly from Taman Negara and spent a long weekend recuperating at home. Because of that I missed out on a wedding luncheon I was so looking forward to. At home, I dug into ‘Good Wives’ by Louisa May Alcott and found it such an enjoyable read.

Also, a friend from Germany came to visit and we went for a day out at KLCC, going up the Petronas Twin Towers, a first for me! June was my month of discovering Stranger Things, and I duly caught up from Season 1 in time for Season 4’s finale. Fly high, July, July.
